Karma is based in Melbourne, Australia. She is a freelance surface designer & illustrator with over 12 years commercial experience. With a background in fashion, she has a diverse skill set and can work in a variety of styles and mediums. She has a passion for creating quirky, but commercial prints and patterns. Her work is created for a range of sectors including fashion, home wares & bedding, wall coverings, stationery and various products.
Karma has exhibited at SURTEX, New York (the largest trade show in the world for companies to licence original artwork directly from artists and illustrators) for the last 3 years. She is also a published author/illustrator of 4 children’s activity books, and is featured in ‘Print & Pattern-Nature’ book which showcases a selection of the worlds best contemporary pattern designers, as curated by Bowie Style of the very popular Print & Pattern Blog (which Karma has also been featured on a number of times). She is also a member of international art collective – Forest Foundry with 7 other artists from around the globe.
Karma is influenced by nature, vintage art & design, different cultures/countries, and the people she meets, and places she visits. She enjoys browsing in bookshops & art galleries, good coffee and camping/being in nature. Most of all she loves traveling and exploring new & interesting places around the globe with her family.
